WMYSA History

In 2000 The West Michigan Youth Soccer Association was established as a non-profit entity. Today, WMYSA is affiliated with US Youth Soccer through our membership with the Michigan State Youth     Soccer Association (MSYSA).  Currently the state has approximately eighty-seven leagues divided  geographically within five regions. WMYSA is located in the West District which is comprised of eleven leagues.   These leagues consist of Cadillac Soccer Association, Capital Area Soccer League, Central Michigan Soccer Association, Grand Valley Soccer Association, Great Lakes Coed Soccer League, Lakeshore Youth Soccer League, Ludington Recreational Soccer Club, Michigan Chill Soccer Club, Northland United Soccer Club, WMYSA and Reeths Puffer Soccer Club. The other regions include Metro-Southwest District, Metro-Central District,  Metro-East District and the  North District.

WMYSA is the sixth largest league in the state and the West District has three of the six largest leagues in the state. Our mission is to educate, develop and encourage the growth of competitive soccer in Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana through cooperative efforts of the various community programs. WMYSA shall provide an opportunity for selected youth soccer players and teams in participating programs to compete in regional leagues organized by age groups up to and including the under-19 age level for both boys and girls. WMYSA intention has been to work with rather than to interfere with existing recreational and development programs in the area.
