West Michigan Youth Soccer Association

Based on current federal regulations, the state now provides consistent training to Adult Members who are in contact with amateur athletes who are minors. This training is mandatory for all adults who work with children involved in any and all WMYSA activities. It is being provided at no cost to MSYSA Adult Members through the U.S. Center for SafeSport. This online awareness/prevention training consists of three (3) training modules which include: Sexual Misconduct Awareness Education, Mandatory Reporting, and Emotional and Physical Misconduct..

Both the "SafeSport Trained" course and the Parent Training help you to recognize if an athlete is being abused. Most importantly, you will learn how to prevent this from happening or how to respond and help if the abuse has already happened. By taking this training, you are a part of our daily effort to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of our nation's sport programs. Thank you for helping us champion respect, and end abuse in sport.

The SafeSport Trained course covers the following topics in-depth:

  • Sexual Misconduct Awareness Education
  • Emotional and Physical Misconduct

If you are doing this training within Stack Sports, no code is nesesary as it is presetup in the system for club officials.

If using via GotSoccer, you will need to contact your club Registrara for directions from the State office.

    Parents

    If you are a parent looking for resources on keeping your athlete safe, you can access the Parent Training at no cost. Simply create an account at www.athletesafety.org, add the parent training to your bag, and you'll be able to access the training.

    Our Parent's Guide to Misconduct in Sport is designed for the parents of athletes of all ages. This course explains the issues of misconduct in sport and helps parents ensure their children have a positive and safe sport experience.
